I'm loving this Amber Oud! I'm trying really hard not to like this one but I confess I really do love it. The combination of ambers, shiso leaf, and oud produces a very strange by highly enjoyable scent. I say strange because there is a cola-like syrupy note that is really quite nice. Normally I'd run away from something like that but it's not too sweet, still possesses a resinous woody character, and yet is so distinctly original I can't resist. As far as the ambers go, I do get some brininess from the ambergris, but nothing animalic - just a tinge of saltiness that is actually beneficial for the scent profile. The other ambers I can't quite pin down but the effect is something reminiscent of immmortelle and/or myrrh.

The amber oud is beautiful.  I have not tried the 4 types of amber, but if the combination is any indication of the beauty of each component, I look forward to experiencing the individual components some day.

Wow.  Your take on amber oud is fantastic. Definitely western palate approved. I think i smell an agallocha oud in there. Kind of smokey licorice. Awesome.

So far: cola (almost a Dr. Pepper, cinnamon-laced cola) and  cherries caught my attention.  Almost a sweetness, but with a Creed-like "presence" that I could almost feel on my tongue.  I usually associate this with ambergris, but I'm not sure what it is that causes this feeling, not a fragrance really.  It may also be that amber that does this, I'm not sure.

pour info et remarque : j'avais déjà eu l'occasion autrefois d'essayer un attar ambre-oud , mais pas de comparaison avec ton huile , bcp plus équilibrée , subtile et douce tout en étant présente.

 j'avais craqué pour amber oud , que je trouve particulièrement doux et rond , avec une petite pointe salée , caractéristique de l'ambre gris , mais parfaitement équilibré et agréable...! En plus , ma conjointe l'aime aussi , ce qui n'est pas toujours évident. En effet il y a les ouds et attars que l'on aime pour soi même (j'ai presque envie de dire , "uniquement" , tellement ils peuvent être forts et animalisés) et ceux qui parviennent vraiment à créer le lien soi/ les autres... Cet amber oud est bien différent d'autres parfums ou même attars de la même appellation que j'ai pu essayer. Il m'évoque une odeur de mauve ou , plus exactement , l'odeur d'un bonbon de ma jeunesse , que l'on trouvait en pharmacie , une petite gomme à mâcher à la mauve... , mais avec cette caractéristique salée / animalisée qui le rend vraiment addictif. Le problème est que lorsque cette odeur parvient à mes narines , j'ai tellement envie de garder le contact le plus longtemps  possible , que par la suite , ma tendance est d'en mettre davantage ! ;).
Par sa rondeur et sa douceur qui semble s' étirer , cette huile peut me faire penser à Oud Darussalam . Je me souviens que pour celle-ci , j'avais longtemps hésité à acheter 1 bouteille pleine et finalement , ce qui est déjà fort bien , j'ai penché pour un 0,75g. Mais cette fois , c'est directement une bouteille pleine que j'ai souhaité avoir. C'est une huile que l'on peut très facilement mettre tous les jours...
