Heir to our popular Tropica, Aquatica is a homage to the exotic islands of Indonesia, and features oud oils from no less than 5 different islands.
The opening is bright and fresh, with notes of tropical and citrus fruits wafted by a soft oceanic breeze. Ambergris and salty Sumatran oud evoke images of shell-scattered beaches and seaweeds swaying under clear waters.
A healthy dose of guaiacwood pronounces the sweet earthiness of the ambergris note and the Sumatran oud seemlessly unites the oceanic notes with the floral ouds from Maluku and Nusa islands, and the crisp woody ouds from Borneo and Papua islands.
Precious rose embellishes the composition and a touch of frankincense gives the blend a zing.
Aquatica has been designed to unfold the oud notes slowly, so even if you're new to oud, you will not find the fragrance a challenge in the least. Opoponax, citrus fruits and florals mask the bold opening note of the ouds. After the opening notes have subdued, the heart notes of Borneo oud take the spotlight, before the scent dries down to the scent of sweet ambergris and crisp woods.
Breezy, citrusy, oceanic - Aquatica is the perfect mukhallat for those days when you want to take a break from heavier and spicier scents, yet cannot do without your daily dose of oud.
Smear some on and transport yourself to the exotic beaches of the Indonesian archipelago.
The best imagery I can give for this
fragrance is to imagine you are standing at the
crack of dawn on a warm yet cool morning in
the forest.
A slight breeze occasionally washes over you. You can
smell the forest, the pine and cedar trees all around
you. There is a freshness in the air, warm but crisp.
This isn't a place to just stand around (though really
you could all day) so you start on a leisurely stroll
through the woods. Take your time, there is no rush
here.

I really like Aquatica, I was pretty sure I would, and
it did not disappoint. It is one of those scents that
have a great WOW factor right off the bat, really made
me smile when I first opened the bottle.

Thank you so much for the new sample scent you sent
me! I received my package this week and was so
pleasantly surprised by the addition of the new Aquatica
and Japanese scent! Of course, I tested it out
immediately and much to my surprise, I am in love with
the new Aquatica despite telling myself that I wasn't
going to love it. You are right in that it still
retain the same feel, in the same family. I smell
the woody notes that I love in Tropica and I also smell
the ambergris that you mentioned. This is one of
the few aquatic scent that doesn't make me feel
nauseous. There is warmth in this aquatic scent
and I wonder if it is the oud that is keeping it
grounded and warm.

FYI, Aquatic has REALLY grown on me! For some
reason, it has been my "go to" scent lately, I think
because it's so much more "wearable" whether to the
office or wherever, and by that I mean I can get an
oud-like experience without feeling like I'm affecting
others around me.

Standing in the woods on a cool fall morning, leaves in
brilliant colors in the trees and on the ground around
you as you stand on the porch of a secluded wood cabin.
Somewhere in the distance, someone is burning fresh
wood, not too close, but enough to catch the scent on
the wind as it mingles with the early morning smells of
the pines, cedars, and the damp leafy tundra. Reminds me
of the smells of the forest whn we go up to Gatlinburg
and the Biltmore when the leaves change in Late
October.

It certainly has a very fresh smell to it that I think
makes it very office safe without leaving any of the oud
experiences behind. It's very energetic from the onset,
fresh and lively, with a little zesty zing to it and a
noticeable addition of frankincense. It's hard to
describe what I was smelling but I found it very
enjoyable and very different from any of the mukhallats
I've tried so far.
